This is the second race in the Richie Mountain Bike Challenge that I entered.  Last year I did this race as well (see this post.)  I entered the 53km, 1900m of climbing race again and was determined to do better than last year.  I have done the course a number of times before the race and feel a lot more confident in the mountains than I did last year.  Also, doing the Cape Epic earlier the year helped a lot, even though it was 3 months earlier.

It was another beautiful day in Pfronten and the temperature was already in the high 20′s at start.  During the race Rita and her parents were cheering me on and it helped a lot to make the mountains feel a little flatter!  The race went pretty well and I finished in 3h21min which was quite an improvement from last year.
